GEORGE HEBERT NAMED PRINCIPAL OF ARCHBISHOP SHAW HIGH SCHOOL

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Today, after consultation with New Orleans Archbishop Gregory Aymond, Salesian Provincial Father Thomas Dunne, and the archdiocesan Office of Catholic Schools, Archbishop Shaw High School Director/President Salesian Father Louis Molinelli announced Mr. George Hebert, a native of the Westbank and Shaw alumnus, has been selected as the new principal of Archbishop Shaw High School.

“We are very happy to have an alumnus with close ties to the community join us as principal,” said Fr. Molinelli. “Mr. Hebert’s gifts and experience will be particular blessings to Shaw as we continue to undergo our strategic plan.”

For the past eight years, Mr. Hebert has served as the principal of Fisher Middle and High School in Lafitte, La. He is a 1985 graduate of Archbishop Shaw High School and has two sons who have both graduated from Shaw.
Mr. Hebert takes on the role following the transfer of current principal, Salesian Father Louis Konopelski by the religious order.

Fr. Molinelli made the announcement to the Archbishop Shaw faculty at a morning faculty meeting and later announced it to the student body during a school assembly.

Archbishop Shaw High School is an all boys Catholic high school located in Marrero. Archbishop Shaw has provided a quality college preparatory education to boys on the Westbank since 1962.
